Land West of Hemel Hempstead

C&A provided expert Highways/Transport, Flood Risk and Drainage Strategy support to the hybrid planning application for a residential development of circa 1000 new dwellings, primary school and local centre at Long Chaulden Hemel Hempstead. In addition, C&A coordinated the geotechnical and topographic survey elements of the scheme.

Ultimately preparing the Transport Appraisal, Comprehensive Travel Plan, Flood Risk Assessment Surface and Foul Water Strategies, provision of the relevant ES Chapters and support to preparing the associated master plans.

This was a particularly challenging site due to the following:

1. topography;
2. ground conditions
3. Presences of high pressure gas main;
4. Offsite junction constraints
