Promotions, Achievements and Farewells in 2025

Merry Christmas from everyone at C&A!

As the year draws to a close, we’d like to wish all our clients, partners and colleagues a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We recently came together for our Christmas gathering in London, enjoying a fantastic afternoon of crazy golf and arcade games, followed by a delicious meal. It was a great opportunity to relax, celebrate our achievements and spend time together as a team.

It’s also been an exciting year for the business, with several new colleagues joining C&A and some well-deserved promotions and achievements. There is also a fond farewell to one of our long-standing colleagues.

Celebrating Promotions and New Colleagues

Congratulations to Steve Whittaker on his well-deserved promotion to Director, joining Glenn and John on the Charles and Associates Board of Directors. Steve joined C&A over eight years ago and has progressed through the business bringing with him over 20 years’ experience in the transport planning industry, including extensive involvement in public inquiries.

Daniel Hughes celebrated an impressive 10 years with C&A at the end of last year and is recognised for his extensive knowledge of software design packages. We are very grateful for his continued commitment and contribution.

Luke Beeching joined our Hook office in May as Associate Director. An experienced highways and infrastructure engineer, Luke specialises in highways and drainage design and flood risk and has been instrumental in building a new team in Hook.

Callan Daniels, Graduate Civil Engineer joined C&A in early 2025. Over the last ten years Callan has developed his design skills, delivering a wide range of solutions for residential developments and highway schemes.

Michele Motteux joined C&A in May as a Senior CAD Draftsperson, bringing with her a wealth of experience. Michele has a strong background in producing high-quality technical drawings and supporting project teams through all stages of design

Ross Norville joined as Principal CAD Technician, with over 25 years’ experience delivering civil engineering and infrastructure projects. Ross has extensive expertise in the production and coordination of detailed technical drawings and supporting multidisciplinary design teams.

Lisa Waspe joined C&A in early 2025 as Finance Manager, with a strong background in financial management and business support. Lisa plays a key role in overseeing the company’s financial operations.

Daniel Abendano Celi, Graduate Transport Planner, joined C&A earlier this year after graduating from UCL with a BA in Geography and nearing completion of his MSc in Transport and City Planning. He has already gained valuable experience working with traffic data and industry software including TRICS, PICADY and ARCADY.

Abby Bennett has joined as Principal Transport Planner, bringing over 11 years’ experience delivering strategic and technical support to both private and public sector clients across the UK.

All of this comes at a particularly exciting time for C&A, following our transition to an employee-owned business in late 2023 and with a strong pipeline of interesting projects for clients in the New Year.

A fond farewell

Last, but by no means least, we say a heartfelt thank you and farewell to Graham Gard, who is retiring from C&A at Christmas. Graham has worked closely with Glenn for many years prior to joining C&A at its inception over 13 years ago. In Graham’s own words, “without employees the company is nothing” – a sentiment that perfectly reflects the values he has embodied throughout his career.
