Little Nash Woods Camping, nestled in scenic Kent farmland near Canterbury, sought to upgrade its status from a seasonal campsite with limited use (28 days use per year) to a permanent site with expanded facilities. The campsite containing 20 pitches, spread across 16 acres of woodland filled with wildlife wanted to ensure that the sites natural surroundings were preserved.
Charles and Associates (C&A) stepped in to address the transportation and access aspects of the planning application. A comprehensive analysis was conducted to demonstrate that safe and suitable access to the site could be achieved without causing significant disruption to the local highway network. This involved an in-depth assessment of the potential impact on traffic patterns, addressing concerns related to increased activity at the campsite.
As a result of C&A’s strategic transport support, Little Nash Woods Camping successfully obtained planning permission for the upgrade. Planning permission was granted for three buildings (office, store, and combined toilet/showers) with a designated parking area. Little Nash Woods Camping can now continue to welcome happy campers whilst striking a balance with the natural beauty of its surroundings.
