Charles & Associates is proud to have successfully worked with Quinn Estates to secure planning approval for a significant mixed-use housing development in Lydden village, near Dover. The project, located on Church Lane, will deliver 23 new homes, including seven affordable units, with a diverse range of housing options.
C&A provided a detailed Transport Statement to assess how the local transport network could support the proposed development. The team engaged extensively with Kent County Council Highways (KCC Highways) to ensure all transport-related concerns were thoroughly reviewed and resolved. Key improvements include new access arrangements with a one way operation, the addition of footways and the reconfiguration of carriageway widths to enhance safety and improve the ability for larger vehicles to negotiate the junctions.
The application was approved during Dover District Council’s planning committee meeting. John Wilde, representing C&A, delivered a speech that highlighted solutions to the transport challenges associated with the project. His tireless efforts of working with KCC to provide the solutions to the highway’s issues were instrumental in guiding the committee’s favourable decision. John also attended the Public Consultation last year which attracted a large turnout where he answered questions from local residents and members of the public.
Chris Pragnell, Development Manager of Quinn Estates expressed his gratitude to John Wilde for his efforts in working with KCC Highways to resolve the transport issues.
C&A remain committed to delivering expert transport and infrastructure solutions that support responsible and impactful developments.
