Planning permission has been secured for a new two-storey clubhouse with spectator facilities at Shirebrook Staff Sports & Social Club in Derbyshire, marking a significant investment in the future of the community sports venue. We were pleased to provide transport and parking advice in support of the planning application on behalf of Tanbry Construction, helping to demonstrate that the proposals could be accommodated safely and sustainably within the local transport network.
Our assessment considered existing travel patterns, site accessibility, parking provision and highway impacts. The analysis confirmed that the site is well served by sustainable transport options, with the majority of the club’s members living within walking distance. Local bus services and Shirebrook railway station also provide convenient alternatives to private car travel.
The transport assessment further demonstrated that the development would continue to operate safely using the existing access arrangements and that adequate parking provision would be available to meet the needs of both day-to-day club activities and larger events. Appropriate management measures were also identified to support the operation of the site during periods of increased demand.
We are delighted to have supported Tanbry Construction in securing this positive outcome and look forward to seeing the project progress.
