Kingsbrook Development Awarded Good Travel Plan Status

The Kingsbrook development in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, has been awarded Good Travel Plan status, reflecting the ongoing efforts of Barratt Redrow and C&A to promoting sustainable and active travel among residents.

Kingsbrook is a major development of 2,500 homes alongside a range of supporting facilities, including a local retail centre, primary and secondary schools and an RSPB centre. C&A has been involved in the scheme from the early stages of Local Plan promotion through to the ongoing detailed design and assessment of the remaining development parcels.

Sustainable transport has been a key consideration throughout the planning and design of Kingsbrook. The development incorporates comprehensive provision for active travel, including walking and cycling routes, alongside bus connections designed to link residents with Aylesbury town centre and wider destinations including Milton Keynes and Luton.

The Travel Plan has been assessed by Buckinghamshire Council and Modeshift STARS, the national scheme which supports organisations and communities in developing, monitoring and delivering effective travel plans. Modeshift STARS recognises best practice in promoting walking, cycling and public transport as alternatives to single-occupancy car journeys.

The Good Travel Plan accreditation reflects the work undertaken by the project team to embed sustainable travel choices into the development and create a neighbourhood where walking, cycling and public transport are practical options for everyday journeys.

For C&A, the achievement represents another important milestone in our long-term involvement with Kingsbrook and our commitment to supporting sustainable development through thoughtful planning, design and transport solutions.
